Privacy Policy

Movie Collector ("the App") is operated by FlowTasks. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights — including how to delete your account and data at any time.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information you give us:

• Email address (when you create an account)
• Password (stored hashed by Supabase — we never see your plain-text password)
• Username, display name, bio, and avatar (only if you create a profile)
• Movie collection data: titles, formats, condition, quantities, photos, notes, storage location, estimated value, and watch status
• Marketplace listings you create (price, condition, description)
• Messages you send to other users through the in-app messaging feature
• Social connections (who you follow)

b) Information collected automatically:

• Authentication tokens
• App version and basic device info for crash reporting
• In-app purchase receipts (Apple / Google) for verifying Pro status

c) Information from third parties:

• Movie metadata from The Movie Database (TMDB)
• Affiliate click data from Amazon and eBay (anonymous only)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the core service: store your collection, sync across devices
• To send account-related emails (sign-up, password reset)
• To enable Pro features for paying subscribers
• To facilitate marketplace listings and in-app messaging
• To enforce Community Guidelines and filter prohibited content
• To prevent abuse and fraud
• For aggregated, anonymous analytics

3. What We Do Not Do

• We do not sell your personal data
• We do not share your collection with advertisers
• We do not display targeted ads
• We do not use your data to train AI models
• We do not process payments between buyers and sellers

4. In-App Messaging

• Messages are stored securely with row-level security
• Messages may be scanned for prohibited content to enforce guidelines
• We may review reported messages to investigate violations
• Message history is deleted when either party deletes their account

5. Third-Party Services

• Supabase (database, authentication)
• TMDB (movie data)
• Stripe (web payments)
• Apple (iOS in-app purchases)
• Google (Android in-app purchases)
• Cloudflare (web hosting/CDN)

6. Data Storage and Security

• Data stored on Supabase servers with row-level security
• Passwords hashed with industry-standard algorithms
• All traffic uses HTTPS / TLS

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. Contact [email protected] if you believe a child has created an account.

8. Your Rights

• Access — view your data any time in the App
• Correct — edit your profile and collection
• Export — Pro members can export to CSV
• Delete — Settings → Account Actions → Delete Account (permanent, backups purged within 30 days)

EU/EEA (GDPR) and California (CCPA) residents have additional rights. Email [email protected].

9. Data Retention

Account data is kept until you delete your account. After deletion, data is removed immediately and purged from backups within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated in-app and via email.
